Corinth Cyling / Harden Dental Looks to Build On Win

February 15, 2012

The Corinth Cycling/Harden Dental race team kicked the 2012 season off in style on Saturday as Bob Baatz (ET) took home the win in the 4/5 category. The race, on a closed circuit course, saw both CCHD and Sun & Ski attacking the field. The second attack split the field with Bob and a Sun & Ski rider forming a two man break that would stay away. After working together for a few laps, Bob was able to drop his challenger and solo home for the win.

“The weather was miserable, but the results were good” said Directeur Sportiff Roland San Miguel. “Many of our teammates finished in the main packs, the idea was to climb those hills and test ourselves, we are ready to go.”

This weekend the team heads to Mineral Wells to participate in their first ever stage race. The race will take place over two days with a crit race on Saturday followed up with an afternoon time trial. Racing will conclude on Sunday with a road race. Derek Cooley, Russ Fagan, Bob Baatz, Matt Denton, Luke Slavens, Roland San Miguel, Paul Wells and Todd Gray will suit up and make the trip out west. “We are ready for the hills” said San Miguel. “The crit course should be short and fast, the time trial will be grueling up two significant climbs but the real test will come on Sunday when we do the road race.” “It’s going to be awesome.”

Corinth Cycling/Harden Dental Set for 2012 season

February 9, 2012

The Corinth Cycling/Harden Dental racing team will kick off the 2012 season this weekend at the Cedar Hill Race Festival in Cedar Hill State Park. Racers will compete on Saturday and Sunday for over $1,500 in prizes. Representing the CCHD team this weekend will be Roland San Miguel, David Carter, Luke Slavens, Bob Baatz, Derek Cooley, Paul Wells, Todd Gray and Devon Coetzer. Wells will be making his racing debut.

Director Sportiff Roland San Miguel said he is eager to start the season. “Overall our team is looking very solid and in good form.” “We appreciate any and all support and cheers out on the course. This is a new race for the DFW area, we want to go out and perform well for our sponsors and fans” said San Miguel.

The relatively mild winter has allowed the team to train hard this offseason. “All these guys have been focused and are participating in weekend training rides in preparation for the season” San Miguel said.

The entire team would like to give a shout out to Matt Harden and Harden Dental for his continued sponsorship of the racing team.
