Corinth Cyling / Harden Dental Looks to Build On Win

The Corinth Cycling/Harden Dental race team kicked the 2012 season off in style on Saturday as Bob Baatz (ET) took home the win in the 4/5 category. The race, on a closed circuit course, saw both CCHD and Sun & Ski attacking the field. The second attack split the field with Bob and a Sun & Ski rider forming a two man break that would stay away. After working together for a few laps, Bob was able to drop his challenger and solo home for the win.

“The weather was miserable, but the results were good” said Directeur Sportiff Roland San Miguel. “Many of our teammates finished in the main packs, the idea was to climb those hills and test ourselves, we are ready to go.”

This weekend the team heads to Mineral Wells to participate in their first ever stage race. The race will take place over two days with a crit race on Saturday followed up with an afternoon time trial. Racing will conclude on Sunday with a road race. Derek Cooley, Russ Fagan, Bob Baatz, Matt Denton, Luke Slavens, Roland San Miguel, Paul Wells and Todd Gray will suit up and make the trip out west. “We are ready for the hills” said San Miguel. “The crit course should be short and fast, the time trial will be grueling up two significant climbs but the real test will come on Sunday when we do the road race.” “It’s going to be awesome.”
